I enjoy the challenges faced to drive my own brand forward on a daily basis , I’m constantly evolving our stores everyday so our customers continue to have a better experience instore.
The original days early in business were tough and involved quite often 6 or 7 days a week at 12 hours a day.
22 Feb 2011 my previous businesses were lost in the Chch earthquakes . I had to restart from scratch and it was extremely tough .May 2014 the MetroMart brand was born and was actually the first retail store to open in the Chch CBD at 663 Colombo Street!
Proudly created a retail network and Convenience offer myself and my team are truly proud to work in and be part of.
MetroMart brand and offer and new stores that continue to grow as a new city centre does also. We continue to evolve as trends and food and beverage changes.
2019 , There are now 11 stores some franchised now and around 5 people per store
Electricians / Plumbers / Signage contractors / Refrigeration service people /Couriers & delivery providers
We train all our retail team in house , We also bring in specialists to train our team barista coffee skills at certain locations
Our website is relatively new , we don’t currently have a social media presence , our customers we notice compliment frequently instore
The ability to create such an evolving retail C Store offer that has appeal to all ! I also love training new staff and giving them basic retail skills that they didn’t previously have.
MetroMart continues to always give to local charities , last week we supported and donated to Red Nose Day and CureKids
