“We offer the gold standard of Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning including specialist stain and odour treatments to the wider Canterbury area.”

Our attention to detail and the quality of our work is what sets us apart. We pride ourselves on our customer service and satisfaction. Our passion for giving back to the local community is something that we believe sets us apart from others.
Extreme Carpet Cleaning has never won a business award
After working with children and youth for many years we decided that we needed a change of direction to be able to provide for our 6 children. My father in law had been in the industry for over 35 years and we had worked alongside him on and off for several years. During this time we observed first hand the potential this industry offered and considered opening our own carpet cleaning company.

We decided to bite the bullet and just go for it but we wanted to structure and manage it differently.

We were able to see what a new perspective, strategy and direction could potentially do for not only our new business but also the industry as a whole.

We had to leave secure full time employment positions with no guarantee that this venture would be a success. We had to take out a significant loan to pay for equipment and set up costs.

We needed to quickly build a client base and solid reputation in order to generate the income required to support our family and service our loan.

We had to compete with existing providers and show why our service was superior.

It was important to believe in ourselves, our strategies and our passion in order for us to be able to succeed in this industry and as new business owners.

We needed surround ourselves with knowledgeable and inspirational business owners that were able to mentor and help guide us through. This was a challenge in itself and we have been fortunate enough to have had a couple of superstars in our corner that were incredible in this area.

Coivd lock downs have been difficult for us with limited funds available and and a large family of 6 children to support. Our expenses did not really change although our income did significantly. We also wanted to pay our staff member his full wages during these times as his expenses remained the same.

This was a difficult time for the entire country but you just do what you have to do to survive and get by.

Perseverance is a major part of succeeding in business and over the years we have endured long days and long nights working extremely hard to build and grow a sustainable business.

All the work we have put in over the years has enabled us to grow and maintain a business reputation that is second to none and we are now one of the most highly sort after companies in Christchurch.

We are currently generating more work than we can handle and are forwarding this onto another couple of local companies while we plan our next move. We are going to be putting another van on the road soon to help with the work load and will be on the hunt for another amazing technician to join our ever growing team.

This person will hold the same values ourselves and our company hold do so will therefore be working on giving back and paying it forward in the community.

To date we have managed to become one of the most highly sort after providers in the Canterbury area which is an amazing feeling. We are one of the highest rated companies in the industry in Christchurch and the surrounding area.

We have grown year upon year and now employ staff, the business is at a stage now where we will again be looking to employ yet another technician to add to the team.

We have been contacted by one of New Zealands largest cleaning franchise companies and asked to assist them in training their staff in carpet cleaning. We are also in discussions with them around the possibility of working together to franchise our business and brand nation wide.

We are most proud of how we are viewed by our clients and the wider community.

It is often mentioned to us by clients that they have seen on our social media what we are doing in the community and shows that we are not only a good service providers but also good people that do unselfish deeds to help others.

Clients will often book with us for these reasons. This is a great feeling to have.

Our team consists of a total of 3 of us so far.
We are regularly forwarding our over flow carpet cleaning work that we are to busy to do ourselves to several other companies in Christchurch. We also forward carpet cleaning, repairs and re stretching on to 2 x different companies.
We are often asked for recommendations and contact details for residential and commercial cleaners. We recommend and refer clients for these services and also do the same for Window cleaning services. Our recommendations and referrals help these other businesses significantly as this is something that we are doing on a regular basis. This is also something that comes back to us as they in turn will recommend us to their clients.
We have fully trained our staff member Kevin to be a very successful and highly sought after technician. Kevin is now at a place where we have people ringing up and requesting that he is the one that comes out to complete their work.
Kevin has had the opportunity to train in the latest techniques available to the market through on line courses offered by the TMF Academy as well as hands on training with some of New Zealands finest Carpet Cleaners.
My wife Sassy not only owns the business along side me she is also the behind the scenes senior administrator, chief financial officer and social media manager. Sassy has been fortunate enough to have been trained and mentored by some local legends including the amazing Lisa Mead at Social Currency Limited. Lisa also is an amazing business owner that gives a lot of time and money back too the community, we like to surround ourselves with like minded individuals and businesses such as this.

We have 75 x 5 star reviews on google and have a 5 out of 5 star rating on Facebook with 148 reviews and over 2100 Facebook followers.

We also have video testimonials from property managers, property management company owners, realestate agents, business owners and home owners.

Some of the benefits we get from being a business owners are to be able to give back by helping others starting off in business. We share our experiences both positive and negative with friends, family and other contacts starting off in business so that they can also build strong successful businesses of their own.
We also get great pleasure from supporting the local community in which we live in and openly encourage other businesses via social media and other means to do the same therefore promoting community involvement and betterment as a whole.
At Extreme Carpet Cleaning we give back to the community in many ways. We clean Ronald Mc Donald House South Island free of charge and were booked to do the same for Ronald McDonald House in Auckland although this has been temporerly postponed due to the current lock down levels. This is scheduled to go ahead again once Auckland moves back down to level 2.

We have taken part in raising money for The Graeme Dingle Foundation through their Drop For Youth campaign by raising money and jumping out of a helicopter over Sumner Beach. We are also doing the same for their latest Jump For Youth campaign and have raised more money and will be Bungy Jumping alongside other participants later this month.

We also clean a lot of youth organisations free of charge as well as local sports clubs. We also donate every year to the Special Children’s Christmas Party.

We take part in fund raising events by offering vouchers to schools for raffles. We participated in a charity sailing event and offered a free clean of a 4 x bedroom house as one of the prizes up for offer on the day. We offered a prize for the Christchurch pop up penguin display in the city competition We have been out to a children’s respite facility for a rock and roll evening and olympic day and shared the cost of the event with another company to put these events on.

We choose a charities annually to offer a free clean of their facility, most recently Te Puna Oranga and Youth Pathways were the most recient recipients of this.

We are working hard on our growing our business while continuing to be leaders in the industry.
We are wanting to remain a community focused company that is viewed by clients to not only to the best possible job but to also have our hearts in then right place. We are going to continue to share information, tips and tricks with other business owners and potential business owners on how to make the best of the opportunities and goals they are working on.
