Business mission and vision:

My Vision changes from time to time, but for the most part it is to provide the best service we can, whist promoting a environmentally friendly policy and good working environment. Family is important part of life and We try and put that first. Not just mine but the Employees as well.

In terms of a Mission, I don’t have a specific one except to keep doing what we are doing as it appears to be working

Business mission and vision

“We are and Electrical Company covering a broad range of electrical works.”

Our willingness to learn and try new ways of doing things to achieve the right results
None, apart from my family being proud of me, probably the most important award (Reward) of all.
I felt that my talents were wasted working for a boss that would not let me grow to my full potential (Its also interesting to work for youself)
As I moved to New Zealand with no qualifications, i had to find a way to both live and support my training to become and electrician. Luckily I was gifted a car to get around in, and I can still remember the excitement of being able to afford a $40 Dest to do my paperwork on. (apprentice wages are not so great)
Gaining my residency, with out that I was not allowed to to run my own Business. and to have that I had to be qualified. which ment I had to nail all my exams first time otherwise I would be Held back from what I need to achieve ( and my work visa may have expired)
I have wanted to stop several times in the early stages, especially If i got pricing a job wrong etc, the first year was very stressful. I Learned a lot in that first year not just about the nuances of the trade but about myself personally
Being able to create a income to support my family and take on Emploees and give them the opportunities to grow
So they both have the opportunity to become electricians, Nick Is still in his first year and Pottie has come from overseas and just needs to do some time and sit his regulations.
I get quite a few good reviews and feedback from customers, unfortunately I am a bit to slow to ask them to put pen to paper or even make a comment on google, I suppose, a good job it what everyone expects so when you provide it they are happy, and don’t think much about writing a review.

Perhaps something I could work on in the future

Everyone thinks you get to swan off when you like, but it doesn’t quite work like that. I suppose one of my favorite parts is getting to meet all the people I work with and for, it brings me a lot of satisfaction to see them happy.
I used to sponsor an Event team we could be doing Running races or Mountain Biking, anything really, but as everyone grew had family’s etc it slowly dropped off, as people didn’t have to time for the events, (My self included) as The business has grown and taken more of my mental capacity I haven’t thought much more about doing something like that, although every now and then an opportunity pops up to help someone whether it be putting in a power supply for a community water chiller or just paying for gas for someone who forgot their card at the gas station.
I suppose we are not directly involved in the community in a straight forward way, but if we can we always try to use local if not NZ suppliers for instance Visionary technologies they are based in Christchurch but are NZ owned.
We are a small Company but we try to facilitate the needs of anyone that comes our way. the hardest part in everyday life is probably the Paperwork. Its just not fun.
Thank you for the opportunity to enter the competition, the questions had me thinking quite a bit about things that i could do better.
