Business mission: “Provide a quality and honest service to all clients. And offer as much information in regards to building codes, so that their job can be done correctly. “
I see the job through from quoting to the end product. So the client only ever has to deal with one person. Quality – we get the job done right the first time. And again, I offer the right information for them to make the right decision.
I was working for a guy whose company folded up, and I was asked to carry on with the work that we had at the time – and it just evolved from there.
Funding the business until I established a credit line. I had to purchase everything and go from there. And I had a young family to support at the time also. I had $5 to my name…. I couldn’t even afford to buy a trowel!!
Competing with larger existing companies that were already established. And like everyone else in Chch trying to run a business while dealing with the effects of the quakes on a personal level, and keeping afloat on the business front.
Having a family to support motivated me to get out and find the work and get it done. Then working long hours – working weekends and late nights, as the clients themselves might only be available outside of normal business hours.
Being able to run a business from scratch and still be here ten years later – and employ Kane – which in turn means he can support his family.
Being able to see my kid’s achievements – being able to be here to watch them grow up.

Site safe training, and first aid, traffic management, plus I am always training on the job – there are always new products to learn.
These are on our website.
It’s a lifestyle – a living. Choosing the hours to some level is great. Great balance.
Donation to the blind with a dog run area. We sponsor a group call Jolt – which is a dance group for people with disabilities, which our son is part of. They put on shows etc throughout the year.
Employing staff. We give back where and if possible. We lay an ambulance pad for the local hospital.
“It’s the winning one – don’t bother looking any further” =). We are honest and down to earth. And I don’t want to talk us up just to win a prize.
